The School of Apparel and Art Design has a long and rich history. The Fashion Design department of the school ranks among the top ten in China, which was accredited by China Fashion Designers’ Association in 1998. Shaanxi Fashion Engineering Technology Center and Fashion Research Institute are set up here as well.
The school is the first to offer master degree program of Fashion Design and Engineering in China. The school also established the first Intimate Clothing Design program in main land China in 2009. With 149 staff members and a student enrollment of over 4200, the School of Apparel and Art Design is one of the largest fashion design school in China. The staffs are commissioned by leading companies and deliver consultancy services. Their internationally recognized staffs have been engaging in academic researches with many countries. Both the staffs and the students have been participating in exhibitions and fashion shows of all kind both at home and abroad, receiving great honors both for themselves and for the university. Awards have been procured in U.S.A., Germany, Russia, Japan, France, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong etc.
