The School of Marxism undertakes the teaching of Ideological and Political Theory related courses, and focuses on the Marxist Theory studies. It provides educational programs in the discipline of Marxist Theory. It sticks to the main part that the Marxism plays in ideology, takes teaching and research as top priority, and pours efforts in graduate education.
The School has Marxist Theory first-level discipline and six second-level disciplines: Fundamental Principles of Marxism, History of Marxist, Marxist Sinicization Research, Studies in Marxism Abroad, Ideological and Political Education, and Research on Basic Issues in Chinese Modern History. There are now 92 postgraduate candidates.
The School has two Provincial Outstanding Teaching Teams, and one Open Access Courses of Top Quality at provincial level. It won the project of Model Marxist School and Excellent Teaching and Research Team by the Ministry of Education in 2016. Three teaching coursewares were given prizes in provincial and national competition in Multimedia Courseware.
The faculty members won a lot of research funds since 2013, more than 20 of which are supported by the Social Science Fund of Shaanxi Province, the Project of Humanities and Social Sciences Fund of Chinese Ministry of Education, and the National Social Science Fund; more than 40 of which are supported by the Special Project of Humanities and Social Sciences of Education Department of Shaanxi Government, and the Xi’an Social Science Fund. There are more than 30 awards in research and teaching reform, among which 7 are at provincial level. Teaching achievements were granted in Excellent Teaching Achievement in Shaanxi Higher Education and in Excellent Teaching Achievement by China Textile Industry Association. More than 200 papers were published, among which some were indexed by SCI, ISTP, EI, and others included in CSSCI and CSCD, or in core journals.
